The story begins at Shiz University, where Elphaba, born with emerald-green skin is ostracized and misunderstood. She arrives with her wheelchair-bound sister, Nessarose, who receives special treatment due to her disability. Elphaba's life changes when she meets Glinda, a popular and self-absorbed student. Initially, they clash due to their contrasting personalities, but they eventually form a deep bond as they navigate their studies and the complexities of their world.
