previously at august wilson theatre
Set in 1930s Berlin during the twilight of the Jazz Age and the rise of the Nazi Party, Cabaret centers on the hedonistic nightlife of the Kit Kat Club, a cabaret-style venue run by the Master of Ceremonies. The story follows Clifford Bradshaw and Sally Bowles, whose relationship unfolds amid the club's glamorous, morally ambiguous world. As Nazi influence grows, personal desires and political realities collide, leading to tragic consequences. The show reflects the shifting tides of power, ultimately revealing the club's role in masking the horrors of fascism.
