Joe turner's come and gone
ethel Barrymore theatre
The story opens with Seth Holly criticizing his boarder Bynum for practicing African spiritual rituals, while Bynum recounts a mystical encounter with a "shiny man" who taught him the "Binding Song", a power to reunite people. Interwoven with this is the search for lost connections. The play explores themes of identity, memory, and the search for belonging, as characters navigate the tensions between the North and South, the past and present, and the desire to find love and purpose in a changing world.
