Beetlejuice
previously at winter garden theatre, marquis theatre, and palace theatre
In a quiet New England town, Barbara and Adam Maitland, a recently deceased couple, are trapped haunting their beloved country home after a car accident. When the house is sold to the obnoxious New York couple Charles and Delia Deetz and their goth daughter Lydia, the Maitlands attempt to scare them away but fail. Desperate, they summon Beetlejuice, a crude and chaotic "bio-exorcist" ghost who offers to ride them of the Deetzes. However, Beetlejuice's antics spiral out of control, terrifying the family and even raising the dead. Lydia, who can see the ghosts, becomes both a target and an ally. The musical blends gothic horror, dark comedy, and theatrical spectacle, exploring themes of grief, found family, and the absurdity of life and death.
